Session and touring vocalist and songwriter Sandi King is the recipient of multiple San Diego Music Award nominations, both as a solo artist and with her indie soul band King Taylor Project. In 2023, she released her debut dance-pop single “Frozen Heart,” the first in a series of ongoing collaborations with award-winning pop artist Jonny Tarr. King released her debut full-length solo album in 2024. Entitled Departure, the jazz fusion project is a tribute to her late father, and was nominated for Best Jazz Album at the 2025 San Diego Music Awards.
King has contributed featured and backing vocals to numerous acclaimed original releases, including those of multi-award winners Joshua Taylor, Jonny Tarr, Kogee Soul Reprise, Black Market III, and Jeff Berkley. She is a highly active and sought after session and live vocalist in a diverse array of genres, and has performed with R&B legends The Manhattans and Heatwave.
Sandi also operates Backseat Booking, a DIY artist assistance one-stop, through which she provides everything from indie tour booking, calendar management and administrative upkeep, to lyric and performance video editing. She is also an experienced local music events planner, coordinating intimate house shows, album release parties, and small festivals.

Backseat Booking is Sandi's artist assistance business. She has been assisting musicians and bands build DIY tours, creating and editing videos, doing digital graphic design for promotional materials, and helping artists manage a DIY music career.
